Brain Gains currently offers academic support for all students from Kindergarten to Grade 9 in core subjects, including Math, English Language Arts (ELA), Science, and Social Studies.
Tutoring may also be available for select courses at the high school level, including Math, Science, ELA, and Social Studies, depending on the student's needs and current availability.
Yes! Academic support for courses at the high school level is available upon request and depending on availability. Brain Gains Tutoring offers sessions to students in Grades 10-12 in the following:
ELA 10, 20, and 30 (all levels)
Math 10C, 10-2, 10-3, 20-1, and 20-2
Science 10, 20, 24, 30
Chemistry 20 and 30
Biology 20 and 30
Because each course varies in difficulty and curriculum expectations, availability depends on the specific course and subject topic. Parents and families are welcome to inquire further to see if Brain Gains is a good fit for you / your child's needs!
Absolutely! Brain Gains Tutoring offers targetted support for students preparing for a unit test, as well as those who will be taking the Grade 6 and Grade 9 Provincial Achievement Tests, including in English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
The support offered extends past covering content. In addition to reinforcing their understanding of course content, students taking PAT Prep sessions work on practice exams and test-taking strategies, all while building confidence as they go!
Yes, yes, and YES! Brain Gains Tutoring offers sessions which place more emphasis on concepts outside of course content, including (but not limited to):
Homework, Study, and Catch-Up Skills
Building Academic Systems & Routines
Long-Term Confidence Building
While some students come to Brain Gains for short-term support before a huge test, others benefit from regularly-scheduled weekly sessions that gradually build proper foundations and confidence over time!
Yes! Students are more than welcome to bring any homework, study guides, quizzes, tests, or any other materials they'd like support with!
From there, complex topics are broken down into more bite-sized "mini quests" so students can better understand the material and build confidence, all while having fun!
